Retired from MMA in October 2020, Khabib Nurmagomedov continues in the sport as the leader of theEagle F.C.' and, even so, he is still involved in controversies. In an interview with 'Full Send Podcast', the Russian recalled the confrontation between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather, which happened in 2017, but he believes the boxer chose to 'go easy' on the Irishman.

“It was a historic event, as it pitted an MMA champion against a boxing champion, but many people don't even remember what happened in the fight. It was like a fight sparring. It wasn't a real fight. After all, this guy (McGregor) is not a boxer. It was like a fake fight, in my opinion. In our fight, everything was real, inside and outside the octagon,” said Nurmagomedov.
At the time, the 'McGregor x Mayweather' duel was a sales success. With 4,3 million pay-per-views, the fight marked the second biggest package success in history. Currently, only Floyd's fight against Manny Pacquiao exceeds the values, with around 300 thousand above.
In 2017, Floyd was undefeated and multiple boxing champion, while Conor had two UFC titles in his possession. In the superfight, McGregor even put in some work, but was knocked out in the 10th round by the American.
