The Brazilian Paulo thiago suffered an injury to his left knee and is out of the fight against Kelvin Gastelum, which would take place in the second edition of UFC on FOX Sports 1, on August 28th. The information was released by the website “Combate.com”.
The injury to the joint was suffered by the athlete a few weeks ago, but confirmation of the cut was only made this Monday (22). In the meantime, Paulo had been training with protection in place and underwent tests, which confirmed the ligament strain.
Faced with the cut of “Caveira”, the organization is looking for a new opponent to Kelvin Gastelum. The young champion of The Ultimate Fighter 17, who surprised the MMA world by beating the favorite Uriah Hall in the final of the reality show, he has a perfect record of six victories.
The second edition of UFC on FOX Sports 1 takes place on August 28, in Indianapolis (USA). The main fight of the night marks a rematch between two of the biggest names in the welterweight category: Carlos Condit and Martin Kampmann.
