Deiveson Figueiredo 'ignores' Pantoja and mentions Kai Kara-France as a possible next challenger for the belt

New flyweight champion revealed his desire to face the New Zealander, who recently knocked out Cody Garbrandt

The victory of Deiveson Figueiredo in the trilogy about Brandon Moreno left the score between the two tied and opened up the possibility of the first quadrilogy in UFC history. If it doesn't happen immediately, however, the new flyweight champion (up to 56,7 kg) has a name on the tip of his tongue for a possible next challenger.

At the press conference after the UFC 270, Deiveson Figueiredo surprised when mentioning the New Zealander Kai Kara France as a potential rival.

“Certainly if they put the Kai Kara France is a guy I would knock out, for the simple fact that he knocked out the cody garbrandt, who was another guy I wanted to knock out. Now I don't care anymore cody garbrandt. It's the head of Kai Kara France that’s at stake right now,” said Deiveson.

The champion's nomination of Kara-France is surprising, as the New Zealander is only sixth in the division's rankings and has a fight scheduled against Askar askarov, second place in the category.

The Brazilian, who was already defeated by Deiveson in July 2019, is in third place, coming from two consecutive defeats against Manel kape e Brandon royval and he only didn't compete for the belt in 2021 because he was injured.
