Dana White praises the duel between Calvin Kattar and Giga Chikadze: 'Candidate for fight of the year'

The 'war' between Calvin kattar e Giga Chikadze drew praise from boss Dana White. In a press conference after the UFC Las Vegas 46 this Saturday (15), the president praised the main confrontation of the event and has already placed it as a candidate for fight of the year.

“It was an absolute war. The first main fight of 2022 is already a candidate for the 'Fight of the Year' award. This is a good way to start. This is the way to start the year. It was amazing. And you know what's funny... It's almost like everyone forgets to Calvin kattar after the duel with Max Holloway. Do you know what I mean? A lot of people were counting on him losing tonight and he looked unbelievable,” Dana said.

Surprisingly, Calvin dominated the fight against Giga Chikadze and won in a unanimous decision by the judges. The North American recovered from the heavy setback to Max Holloway, in January 2021, and ended the Georgian's unbeaten run with Ultimate gloves. Kattar has a record of 23 triumphs and five setbacks in professional MMA.
