"Let's see what happens. We are talking a lot with the UFC. I want to fight. I want to fight at the beginning of this year and basically start from there. I want to redeem myself from the fight against Werdum. I feel like I didn't really get into that fight. I feel like I need to do something, get a fight and take it one fight at a time. I want to fight this year, get in there and have fun. Get one win at a time,” said Gustafsson.

Alexander Gustafson was completed by Fabricio Werdum in the first round of the fight held in July 2020. The fight marked the Swede's debut in the heavyweight division (up to 120,2 kg).
