The former UFC middleweight title challenger Thales leites will return to the organization in style, fighting on the main card of UFC Rio 4. After the cancellation of the fight between Demian Maia e Josh koscheck due to the American's injury, the confrontation between Thales and Tom Watson was promoted to the group that makes up the pay-per-view of fight night.
Thales leites has a record of 20 wins and four losses. The last time the Nova União athlete stepped into the Octagon was in 2009, at UFC 101, against Alessio Sakara. Englishman Tom Watson, on the other hand, has a record of 16 wins and five losses. “Kong”, as he is known, comes off a triumph over Alexander Nedkov in February.
UFC Rio 4, also known as UFC 163, takes place on August 3 at the HSBC Arena. In the main clash of the night, José Aldo puts the featherweight title on the line against “Korean zombie” Jung Chang-Sung. In the co-main fight, the former light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida faces Phil Davis.
