The 27th edition of WOCS suffered two important casualties. The event that takes place on August 2nd, in Rio de Janeiro, will not feature Giovanni Diniz as the champion. He was vetoed by the doctor, to face Paulo Bananada, in a duel for the under-70 kg belt. The other loss of the show was Dennys “The Machine” who suffered an injury and is out of action.
Holder of the lightweight belt, Giovanni Diniz suffered a knockout in a fight held on July 7th and, due to the resulting injuries, was vetoed by the doctor he consulted with. The WOCS organization chose its partner from Nova Uniãol Andrews Tigrão, whose record is nine wins and seven losses, to fight for the interim belt, against Paulo Banada, an X-Gym athlete with a history of 18 triumphs and eight setbacks.
Another new addition to the main card, Bruno da Rosa. He won the only fight he fought in MMA, by knockout, and will replace Dennys “The Machine”, to face Wendell Negão, an athlete from Crazy Fight Team, with a record of 21 wins and seven losses.
WOCS 27 will be held at the Hebraica gym, in Laranjeiras. The event will be broadcast on the Combate channel from 20pm. SporTV only broadcasts the main card at 22pm. Check out the full show card below:
