Interim bantamweight champion Petr Yan renews his UFC contract for six more fights

With the rematch scheduled for March, to unify the under-61,2kg belt, the Russian celebrated on his Instagram the extension of his contract with Ultimate

Current interim bantamweight champion (up to 61,2kg), Petr yan has just extended its contract with Ultimate. In a post made on his Instagram, the Russian celebrated the renewal of his contract with the company for another six fights and was eager to unify the category belt, scheduled for March 5th.

“We signed a new contract with the UFC with better conditions for six fights. And so, onto the next fight. On March 5th, in Las Vegas, it will be the defense of the belt”, wrote the Russian on his social network.

Former champion of the under-61,2kg division, Yan was dethroned by aljamain sterling in March 2021, in a duel with a controversial outcome. In October, the Russian defeated Cory Sandhagen in the unanimous decision of the judges and won the interim belt in the category. The rematch against the 'Funk Master' is scheduled for UFC 272, which is scheduled for March 5th.
