Brazilians Warlley Alves and Vivi Araújo are out of UFC 270

Despite the absences, the event on January 22nd still has six Brazilian representatives

With just over two weeks left for its completion, the UFC 270, the first numbered event of the year, suffered two absences on the preliminary card, both Brazilians. Warlley alves e Viviane Araujo are out of the event scheduled for January 22nd.

Warlley alves, who would face newcomer Jack Della Maddelena in the welterweight division (under 77 kg), had to leave the card for reasons not yet disclosed. The UFC is looking for a replacement to face the Australian prospect.

At 31 years old, Warlley planned to recover from the defeat suffered in his last fight, in June 2021, when he was defeated by fellow debutant Jeremiah Wells. Champion of the third season of The Ultimate Fighter Brasil, the Brazilian has eight wins and five losses in the octagon.

Another Brazilian absence on the card was due to Viviane Araujo. The flyweight (up to 56,7 kg) would face Alexa grasso on the card on the 22nd, but had to cancel the commitment due to an injury.

Vivi Araújo She is coming off a defeat to Kaitlyn Chookagian in her last fight, but her record of four wins and just two setbacks in her career in Ultimate places the Brazilian in sixth place in the flyweight rankings.

Despite the absences, Brazil still has six representatives in the UFC 270: Poliana Botelho, Saimon Oliveira, Raoni barcelos, Rudolph Vieira, Wellington Turman e Deiveson Figueiredo, who disputes the flyweight belt in the co-main fight, in a trilogy against Brandon Moreno.

In the main fight of the event, Francis Ngannou e Cyryl Gane they duel for the unification of the UFC heavyweight belts (up to 120,2 kg).
