Current number three in the heavyweight rankings (up to 120,2kg) of Ultimate, Derrick Lewis wants a new chance at the category title. The North American, who is coming off a devastating knockout against Chris Daukas, said that he wants to face Stipe Miocic in your expectation.

“I want to fight Stipe (Miocic) now. I believe it will be a good match for the fans, because he is more of a wrestler with a wrestling style and I feel ready for it. So this would be a great fun fight. It's one of the reasons why I'm still among the top ten in the division, with new blood. I believe I will be the underdog in the fight, but I believe my fans would get a financial return,” Lewis said in an interview with the podcast 'The MMA Hour'.
Derrick even had the chance to win the division's interim belt, but was defeated by Cyryl Gane, in August 2021. He, however, managed to overcome Chris Daukas and, as a bonus, he recorded the highest number of knockouts (13) in the history of the division.
On the other hand, Miocic has not yet announced his future after losing the title to Francis Ngannou, in March 2021. Considered one of the main names in history, the veteran has already beaten names like alistair overeem, Daniel Cormier, Fabricio Werdum e junior gypsy.
