Rafael Fiziev challenges Rafael dos Anjos to 'find out who is the best Rafael in the UFC'

Former lightweight champion (up to 70,3 kg) and former welterweight title challenger (77 kg), Rafael dos Anjos he can compete for another title in his next fight: the best Rafael in the organization.

After challenging Tony Ferguson on social media and receive a response that is not very conclusive, Rafael dos Anjos was challenged by his “namesake” Raphael Fiziev for a fight on February 19th.

“We all saw this fight and I have already responded to the UFC that I am available for that day,” stated Fiziev.

Fiziev refers to the duel between Rafael dos Anjos e Tony Ferguson in 2016, which ended with the North American winning a unanimous decision. The Kyrgyz, eleventh in the ranking, challenged the Brazilian, who occupies sixth place, to decide “who is the best Rafa” in Ultimate.

“Rafa, Rafa, Rafael. Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a blessing, that's why they call it the present. Let’s find out who is the best Rafa in the UFC”, challenged Fiziev.

Owner of a record of 11 wins and one defeat, Raphael Fiziev was defeated in his Ultimate debut, in 2019, but since then he has scored five consecutive victories, the last over Brad Riddell, in December.

Rafael dos Anjos, in turn, returned to the lightweight division after four years at welterweight with a victory over Paul felder in November 2020, but has not fought since.
