Brazilian prospect in the middleweight division (up to 83,9kg) of the UFC and Kickboxing legend, Alex Poatán took to social media to debate Markus Maluko, who questioned his refusal to fight against Krzysztof Jotko. “The guy just arrived in the organization with 4 (wins) and 1 (loss) and he’s choosing a fight?! I think it's even better. If the guy is incomplete and is afraid of losing, I think it's better to go that route. Disparaging a guy who was once in the top 13 in the category, Krzysztof Jotko, and say you've never heard of it?! It shows how much he understands MMA or knows what he's talking about. MMA is not Kickboxing or jiu-jitsu. I think he forgot about Quemuel Ottoni’s class (the only Brazilian to beat him in MMA)”, wrote Maluko.

Attentive to the comment, Poatan made a point of getting to the comment and questioned Markus' time in Ultimate.

“Another guy frustrated because he couldn’t achieve his goals and because I have a good manager. Brother, if you can't tell, there's a big difference from how I arrived in the UFC, as a two-division Glory champion. And you? I'm not to blame for your failure! If you want to be my sparring partner, I’ll pay you well,” Alex replied.

Understand the case

After debuting in the UFC with a knockout via flying knee against Andreas Michailidis, Alex Poatán returns to the Octagon against his compatriot Bruno Blindado, on March 12th. Before that, however, he would have refused a fight against Krzysztof Jotko with the justification that Polish was 'unimpressive and uninteresting'.
