Former boxer believes that Kamaru Usman would not be successful in boxing venture; understand

Teddy Atlas praises the Nigerian's evolution in striking, but says he would not be able to repeat the same level of performance against athletes of the 'noble art'

Big name in mixed martial arts today, Kamaru Usman 'expanded the bubble' and is constantly speculated about boxing superfights. However, for former boxer Teddy Atlas, the Nigerian would not be successful in the sport, even though the most recent performances may suggest such a change.

“He is very strong physically, hits his opponents well and is not a bad striker. And although I think he has a lot of good aspects and strengths in standup, he wouldn't be able to be successful in boxing. What I want to say is that styles make fights”, said the boxing legend to 'The Schmo'.

Previously, as soon as he began his career in Ultimate, the welterweight champion (up to 77kg) was known for having a strong game in Wrestling, but an evolution in his striking seemed to be necessary for him to achieve great things in the organization. And since winning the title in 2019, Usman has knocked out three of his last five opponents.

A professional since 2012, Kamaru has a record of 20 wins and just one setback in MMA. The Nigerian even has the record of consecutive victories at welterweight (15) and is considered, by many, as one of the best fighters today. In fact, he has already had his name mentioned for a possible fight against the YouTuber Jake Paul in the past.
