If the UFC wants to promote a rematch between Anderson Silva e Chris Weidman in February of next year, the Brazilian's expectation is for the confrontation to take place even earlier. According to the website's journalist MMA fighting Ariel Hewlani, one of the most respected in the specialized press, Spider would like to repeat the confrontation in 2013.

“According to sources very close to the former UFC middleweight champion, Silva changed his tune about not fighting Weidman again just hours after being knocked out by him at UFC 162 in Las Vegas. Sources said they had never seen Silva so motivated to fight anyone and that just over 24 hours after the loss Silva was jokingly saying that the rematch could take place this week. That’s how much he wants to avenge his loss to Weidman,” Helwani wrote. “Silva’s preference would be to fight Weidman again this year, and not in February,” he added.
