If you think you've seen it all in combat sports, 'sit down, history is coming'. After the increase in celebrities taking risks in fights, the idea reached politics and Brazil was the country where the event took place. Last Saturday (11), the disaffected Simão Peixoto, mayor of Borba (AM), for the PP, and the former councilor, Erineu Alves da Silva, popularly called 'Mirico', decided to solve their problems in style: by fighting.

In the images (see below), released by the BNC, it was clear that the confrontation was carried out within rules that maintained the integrity of the participants as much as possible. It all happened after 'Mirico' criticized Simão's stance on the conservation of the Borba resort. Irritated, the mayor suggested that the fight be held 'according to UFC rules'.

As soon as the referee authorized the start of the duel, the former councilor went all out. Aiming for Peixoto's base, 'Mirico' launched a sequence of low kicks, which shook the mayor.

The disadvantage long diminished. Simão took advantage of his opponent's oversight and landed a right hand bomb, which took his opponent to the canvas. The fight went to the ground and, while the politicians, without much familiarity with the grappling fight, did not get involved, the public cheered outside the ring.

The duel continued for three more rounds. At the end of the duel, the judges gave victory to the mayor.

After the confrontation, Peixoto stated to UOL that the fight was not just used to solve political problems. The mayor stated that the show was also used to raise contributions for Solidarity Christmas, which provides basic food baskets for the needy population.
