“It was the same place I hurt against Mark Coleman at Pride. My doctor thought it would be better to recover without surgery and that's what I did. In August I started training again and now I feel 100%, so I'm going to ask my manager Eduardo Alonso to schedule my next fight for March”, revealed Shogun in an interview with “Sherdog”.

In Ultimate since 2007 and with more than 20 fights for the organization, Mauritius Shogun hopes to return to the Octagon on at least two more occasions. The former champion, however, does not rule out a possible confrontation against his rival from his Pride days, Ricardo arona, in grappling.

“I am driven by challenges. My focus is total on the UFC. I want to fight two more times. But if ADCC or another grappling organization invites me to face Arona under submission rules, with all the respect I have for him, I would accept the offer and fight to win”, guaranteed the former champion.
