Dominick Cruz opens the door to face José Aldo, but prioritizes rematch with Henry Cejudo

Former bantamweight champion, North American admits he can face the Brazilian to get closer to the title, but wants to take revenge on the 'Triple C'

After going through 'war' in UFC 269 last Saturday (11) by overcoming Peter Munhoz in the unanimous decision of the judges, Dominick Cruz once again aimed to nominate himself among the main names in the division. And, in a post-event press conference, the North American opened the door to a possible confrontation against José Aldo, but prioritized the rematch against Henry Cejudo, If 'Triple C' return from retirement.

“Yes, you know I'm not going to say no to a fight against (José) Aldo just because it brings me closer to the title. Aldo is a sporting legend. I have a lot of respect for him. But it irritates me that I lost to Henry Cejudo, as he later retired. And I couldn't crush him in a rematch. But if this idiot decides to come back, I’ll be waiting for him,” said Cruz.

In the first fight between Henry Cejudo e Dominick Cruz, or 'Triple C' managed a knockout with a knee in the second round of the fight and, shortly afterwards, 'hung up' his gloves for the UFC bantamweight belt (up to 61,2kg).

With the victory over Munhoz on the preliminary card, Dominick scored his second consecutive victory in the organization. In his career, he now has a record of 24 positive results and three negative results.
