The fight

The confrontation began with the athletes studying each other and waiting for the best moment to attack. The first blow was delivered by Sakai, who connected with a low kick. The Australian continued walking forward, while the Brazilian circled, escaping his opponent's strong hand. After almost two minutes, Tai shortened his grip and started pressing Augusto against the bars. The duel continued without much emotion, with the athletes measuring their strength in grappling. The heavyweights moved away and the duel was fought again in the center of the Octagon. Near the final minute, Tuivasa threw an overhand, which touched the Brazilian. Afterwards, the athletes returned to compete on the grid. Tai moved away and landed good blows on the Brazilian, but Augusto absorbed the attack well. The stage ended with the fighters exchanging blows close to the bars.
