Four years after the controversial provocation against Brazil, Colby covington didn't change 'a single thing' from what he said before the fight against Demian Maia in 2017. In an interview with 'MMA Fighting', the last welterweight challenger (under 77,1kg) reinforced his hatred and called the country a 'dumping ground'.

“You know these people are filthy animals. I called that place a dump because it was a dump. I didn't like my experience. There, they treated me like shit. They screamed bad things at me and told me I was going to die,” Colby said.

The trigger for the controversy occurred in October 2017. At the time, the then prospectus Colby covington would face the veteran Demian Maia, in Sao Paulo. Faced with the well-known 'heat' of the Brazilian fans, the North American didn't let his guard down and called the Brazilian fans 'filthy animals'. Since then, 'Chaos' has become hated by a large part of Brazilian fans.

Last November, Colby had another chance to become the welterweight champion, but stopped again on the talent of the division leader Kamaru Usman. In his last two fights, the North American suffered two defeats, both to the 'Nigerian Nightmare'. 'Chaos' has a record of 16 triumphs and three setbacks in professional MMA.
