On the back of five consecutive wins in the strawweight division (up to 52,1kg.), Carla esparza has already asked for a title shot, but he may have to fight one more time to get a duel against Rose namajunas. And, in an interview with 'MMA fighting', the North American opened the doors to a rematch against Joanna Jedrzejczyk.

If the fight, in fact, goes ahead, Esparza would have the chance to avenge a knockout suffered in 2015. She even promised that the result 'would be different', in case of a new meeting.
“I never had a chance to have a rematch with someone, especially after being defeated by another athlete. I think I'm a different fighter than when that fight happened. I would like to fight her again. I think it would be a fight with a different result”, said Carla.
Number two in the under-52,1kg ranking, Esparza was the first champion of the category, in 2014. On that occasion, the 'Cookie Monster' defeated Rose namajunas in the final of the twentieth edition of the reality show 'The Ultimate Fighter'. Number two in the rankings, Carla has a professional MMA record of 18 victories – currently five in a row – and six setbacks.
At 33, Joanna Jedrzejczyk has a history of 16 triumphs and four setbacks as a mixed martial arts professional. She was the strawweight champion (up to 52,2 kg) from March 2015 to November 2017, but has not performed since March 2020, when she was defeated in the electrifying fight against Weili Zhang.
