Former rival praises Charles do Bronx for 'turnaround' in his career: 'it's wonderful to see'

Jim Miller defeated the current champion in 2010, but was submitted by him in the rematch eight years later

The history of Charles of the Bronx should serve as an inspiration to many fighters. In the UFC since 2010, it took the Brazilian 11 years to finally get the organization's belt, won with a knockout victory over Michael chandler in May this year. Charles' comeback is a reason for praise even from former rivals.

During his participation in The MMA Hour, a podcast on the website “MMAFighting.com”, Jim Miller, who faced Charles of the Bronx On two occasions in the octagon, he praised the lightweight champion (up to 70,3 kg).

Jim Miller faced Charles of the Bronx at two distinct moments in the Brazilian’s career. In their first meeting, back in 2010, the first year of the Brazilian's career in Ultimate, the North American won via submission with a kneebar. Eight years later, the two met again and the Brazilian returned the victory by submission, this time via rear naked choke, in the third of nine consecutive victories that culminated in him winning the belt.
