The UFC does not hide its desire to enter the Chinese market and the largest MMA organization in the world has taken an important step to make its name in the most populous country on the planet. Ultimate announced, this weekend, that it will hold the first edition of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF), the event's reality show in China.
Through its official website in Chinese, Ultimate announced that it has opened registrations for the first season of TUF China in the featherweight (up to 66 kg.), lightweight (up to 70 kg.) and welterweight (up to 77 kg.) divisions, but It is not yet defined which of these categories will be included in the program. The program's premiere and closing date have not yet been announced by the organization.
Currently, the UFC only has two Chinese fighters under contract: featherweight Tiequan Zhang and bantamweight Jumabieke Tuerxun.
