Viewership of the Bellator reality show rises in the second episode

Without hockey competition, Fight Master gains 26% new viewers in second week

The Fight Master, reality show produced in the United States by Bellator in conjunction with the Spike TV channel, it is the big bet to once and for all popularize the organization that is today the second largest in the world. However, in the premiere episode, on June 19th, the audience was well below expectations.

Channel and event executives blamed the match valid for the final series of the professional ice hockey championship, which was shown at the same time as Fight Master, for the poor performance of the premiere. When checking the audience for the second episode, shown this Wednesday, hope for better days emerged. O reality show jumped from 432 thousand average viewers in the first week to 545 thousand in the second, a 26% increase in audience, with the NHL final series already decided.

The biggest audience gain occurred in the male age group 18 to 34, MMA's main fan base. In this group of viewers there was a 54% increase in audience. The range between 35-49, which includes fans from the early days of the new sport, also showed good growth, according to reports on the MMA Fighting website.

Fight Master is led by four coaches: former UFC champions Randy Couture, Frank Shamrock, former Bellator champion Joe Warren and Greg Jackson, leader of one of the most prestigious teams in the world, Jackson's MMA. Thirty-two welterweights compete for sixteen spots on the program in the first three episodes. The group will close with the chapter that will air next week, on July 3rd.
