“It was like a bad cold. A bad flu. I mean, it wasn't scary at all, but it wasn't conducive to being in great shape for a fight. I was gone for a whole week, very tired. It definitely went down into my lungs, so I had lung congestion. I was coughing a lot,” Tate said in an interview with ‘The MMA Tour'.

After Tate tested positive, she stated that she did not feel well and, in addition, it also took her a long time to recover. Still, the former champion reveals that she is not feeling any effects for this Saturday's main fight.

“I could see it could be a problem if fighters struggled to fight while they were sick. I was tested negative and out of quarantine and tried to do strength and conditioning training, but I was at 60%. After going through that, I just waited to get through it and preferred to rest my body, as it could put me in a worse situation”, concluded the American.
