VIDEO: Pezão fires at Herb Dean for controversy in fight with Rotwell: 'I don't want any more in my fights'

In an exclusive interview with SUPER LUTAS, a Brazilian reveals that it was not the referee's first controversy in his fights

Marcos Foot returned to the Octagon UFC Las Vegas 42 last Saturday (13) to try for his second victory in a row. And, against the experienced Ben Rotwell, the Brazilian managed to knock him out, but was almost blocked by Herb Dean, which guaranteed criticism from the athlete.

In an exclusive interview with the SUPER FIGHTS, Pezão confesses that it was not Herb Dean's first controversial attitude in his fights and reveals that he even joked with Dana White that he no longer wants to see the referee in action in his future appearances in Ultimate.

PUBLICITY:

“I have some questions with Herb Dean. In four of my fights that he has played in, all of them were controversial – against Valter Negrão, Nikita Krylov, Maurice Greene and now against Ben Rothwell. What to talk about Herb Dean? I have these four complaints. I even joked with Dana that I don't want Herb Dean in my fights anymore,” said Pezão.

In fact, the Brazilian says that he had connected a blow that already left Rothwell knocked out, in addition to hearing a request from Dean to stop hitting – as he had already managed to win. The referee, however, was indecisive at the time and ended up being the 'protagonist' of the episode.

PUBLICITY:

“I had already hurt him (Bem Rothwell) like that and it wouldn't change the result of the fight, but it would only prolong the blows he would take. But at the time I didn't even stop, because I didn't feel like I was holding on. I heard: 'Stop, stop, stop' (stop, in free translation). When he spoke, I opened my hand and turned without hitting”, added the Brazilian.

Important victory

In addition to the controversy with Herb Dean, Marcos Foot also revealed that he was ready for a 'war', but was surprised by a quick knockout. Now, he emphasizes that he is becoming a complete athlete and believes that the next opponents will avoid him on the feet.

“Yes, I expected that I could knock out due to my skills. But I didn't expect it to be so fast. Most of the guys in the category will avoid fighting me stand-up – because of my background in kickboxing and MMA. There will always be fear. I’m a knockout artist, but I have good jiu-jitsu and wrestling”, he concluded.

For the first time since 2014, Marcos Foot adds two consecutive victories in his career. The Brazilian fighter now has a record of 19 triumphs, seven setbacks and one draw.
