Dana White promised and must deliver: six events in Brazil in 2013
The UFC may be close to holding its sixth event in Brazil in 2013, a historic record. According to information released by journalist Guilherme Cruz in his account on Twitter, and later confirmed with the organization on the website mmajunkie, Ultimate should land on Brazilian soil on November 15th.
The news also states that the intention is to hold another event in the “UFC On FOX Sports 1” series in the United States. There was also no confirmation on the location or city that will host the fight night.
The date, a Friday, precedes UFC 167 by one day, the event for which the next defense of the welterweight belt is scheduled for Georges St Pierre. In Las Vegas, the Canadian will face the North American John hendricks.
In 2013, the UFC already held or scheduled five other events on Brazilian soil: UFC Sao Paulo (January), UFC on Combate 2 in Jaraguá do Sul (May), TUF Brasil 2 Finale in Fortaleza (June), UFC Rio 4 (August) and the third UFC on FOX Sports 1 (September) – possibly in Belo Horizon.
