“What keeps me motivated is what I still have inside me, which is the desire to have my face in the 'Mount Rushmore* of MMA'. I want to be next to Khabib (Nurmagomedov), Anderson Silva and Georges St-Pierre. Until that day comes, I'll keep moving forward. I just need to keep fighting, having great performances and winning fights in an exciting way. That’s how you build a legacy,” said Holloway.

Max's next appointment will be next Saturday (13), against the prospect Yair Rodriguez. The former champion showed respect for the Mexican fighter and said he was looking forward to the fight.

“Yair is very unorthodox, he likes to throw those super explosive spinning kicks. I have to respect it, but I'm looking forward to it, because this is the type of fight that excites me. I like to fight dangerous fights, and he's a dangerous guy. That's why I want Saturday to come soon. I feel great for this fight. I can't wait to get up there and give another unforgettable show. I don't feel any pressure, it's just another fight. Of course you get nervous from time to time, but it's just another fight. I’m dying to have fun in there”, concluded Max.

Featherweight champion between 2017 and 2019, Holloway was dethroned by Alexander Volkanovsky in December of that year. In the rematch, in July 2020, the Hawaiian was defeated again. His recovery took place in January of this year, when he ran over Calvin kattar over five rounds and won by unanimous decision from the judges. The fighter has an MMA record of 22 triumphs and six setbacks.
