The duel between Marcus Buchecha and Kang Ji Won was originally scheduled to take place in April this year, but an injury to the South Korean caused the fight to be cancelled.
Buchecha and Won are undefeated in professional MMA. The Brazilian, who trains at American Top Team, debuted in the sport in September, when he submitted Anderson “Braddock” Silva with a north-south choke in the first round. On the other hand, the South Korean enters the ONE cage for the third time carrying a little more experience, with five fights and five victories in his career, all by knockout.
But if in MMA Marcus Buchecha's resume is still short, in jiu-jitsu he has plenty. A legend in the gentle art, the Brazilian is one of the biggest names in the history of the sport, with 13 world titles, two gold medals at the ADCC and victories over names like Rudolph Vieira, Gilbert Durinho, Rafael Lovato Jr., kron gracie and other icons.
In addition to the presence of Marcus Buchecha, ONE: Winter Warriors will also feature the final of the atomweight tournament, between Stamp Fairtex and Ritu Phogat and the fight for the organization's lightweight kickboxing belt between champion Regian Eersel and challenger Islam Murtazaev .
