Last Friday (5), in the main fight of Bellator 270, Patricky Pitbull knocked out Peter Queally and won the organization's lightweight belt (up to 70,3 kg), which had been vacant since his brother, Patrício, abdicated the title in early October.

In an exclusive interview to SUPER FIGHTS, Patricky spoke about the feeling of, after more than ten years fighting for Bellator, finally reaching the long-awaited title in the organization.

“It’s a long walk, it was difficult. It's not easy for anyone to be world champion. The hardest part is making your way to the top. A lot of dedication, a lot of bad thoughts that go through our heads all the time. But, thank God and with a lot of dedication I managed to reach the long-awaited and desired belt”, said the new champion.

Owner of 16 knockout victories in his career, Patricky stated that he wants to continue making history in the organization and taking down his opponents, but now as owner of the belt.

PUBLICITY:

“What I want to do now is defend the belt, make history as champion of this category. Keep knocking out, beating opponents like I do, because a knockout champion is much more beautiful than anything else. I want to keep knocking people out,” said Pitbull.

Former lightweight champion, Brent Primus is the most likely name to be the first challenger for the Brazilian's belt. If Patricky had his choice, however, his next opponent would be someone else.

"A. J. McKee. To return the affection that my brother showed me by hitting me Michael chandler”, replied the potiguar.

Featherweight champion (up to 65,7 kg) of the organization, A. J. McKee won the belt by knocking out Patrick Pitbull No. Bellator 263, in July. The American, however, has already indicated a few times that he is interested in abandoning the featherweight division and moving up to lightweight.

“He’s a guy who had problems cutting weight against my brother. He has suffered from this for a long time. He is definitely suffering a lot. As the champion, if they want to play me against him, I'm ready to beat him. I even imagined the look”, revealed Patricky.
