After defeat to Usman, Colby Covington takes aim at Jorge Masvidal and teases: 'Let's see who is the king'

North American says he has a personal rivalry to resolve with 'Jesus das Ruas' and asks Ultimate for a fight

No time for regrets. Despite the new setback against Kamaru Usman for the title of the welterweight division (up to 77kg.) which took place last Saturday (6), Colby covington want to measure strength Jorge masvidal in your next presentation to finally resolve personal issues. He even says that he has a personal rivalry with the 'Jesus of the Streets' and hopes to face him soon.

“He talks a lot of shit and it’s a personal rivalry. There's nothing like it in the UFC, which can overcome all of this well. Let's see who is the king. I want to punch him in the face – he even has alimony to pay. So, I will take revenge on this guy for everything,” said Covington.

Known for its power of trash talk, the American believes that Masvidal could put him back in contention for the welterweight title fight. Covington also reveals that fans and journalists gave him a 'star reputation' that does not match the quality of 'Jesus of the Streets'.

“I think a fight against Masvidal would be good, as it would take me back to the top. He was number one in the rankings before being defeated twice in a row. You put a lot of enthusiasm into him, as if he were a star with crazy knockouts, but you know this fight needs to happen”, he concluded.

Professional since 2012, Colby covington was already interim champion, but ran into Kamaru Usman on both occasions for the linear title. The North American now has a record of 16 positive results and three negative results in his career.
