After answering questions from the press present at the event, it was time for the fighters to come face to face. In the images (see below), what seemed to be a friendly look turned into a beginning of confusion.

With a serious expression, Usman asked Covington to come closer. After staring at each other for a few seconds, the champion took advantage of an oversight by Dana White, who was mediating the situation, and pushed the challenger.

After being separated, the athletes continued to chat while the public cheered and expressed their support for the protagonists of this weekend's show.

The clash between Usman and Covington will mark the second meeting between the athletes in the octagon. In 2019, after a real battle, the Nigerian came out on top, beating his rival by knockout with just under a minute remaining in the match.
