UFC says debut event on FOX Sports 1 is not at risk

This Tuesday morning (18), news broke that the first UFC On FOX Sports, scheduled for August 17th in Boston, runs the risk of not happening due to legal problems involving the participation of foreign fighters in the state of Massachusetts.

With the sale of tickets through steam, the UFC tried to dispel the rumor. According to Marc Ratner, the organization's vice president of regulatory affairs, the Boston event is not at risk.

“The event will definitely happen,” emphasized Ratner, who also said that no other American state requires Social Security registration for fighters who are not American citizens. Furthermore, the director informed that the UFC was not charged in relation to this documentation when it held the first event in Boston, in 2010.

The first UFC On FOX Sports 1 has x foreign fighters scheduled. In addition to Mauricio Shogun in the main fight, alistair overeem, Iuri Marajó, Thiago Pitbull, Nick Ring, Conor McGregor, Andy Ogle, Akira Corassani, Diego Brandao and Manny Gamburyan are the foreigners who will be in action at the August 17th event.
