The triumphant return of Khamzat Shimaev After recovering from the after-effects of Covid-19, he raised a question: who can stop the Swede? According to Jon Anik, one of the UFC's main commentators, the bar for the 'phenomenon' must be raised and Gilbert Durinho should be the next opponent for the pupil.

“We spent a lot of time discussing Khamzat Shimaev on my podcast, which will be live soon. A main fight against Gilbert Durinho makes a lot of sense. It could also be worth a passport to a title fight, in my humble opinion”, wrote Anik, on his Instagram account.

Considered a jewel and called a 'phenomenon' by Ultimate's president, Dana White, Chimaev was one of the highlights of the UFC 267, held last weekend. Present on the main card and back in the octagon after more than a year of inactivity, the Swede 'walked' against li jingliang.

Facing one of the highlights of the welterweight division (under 77kg), Khamzat didn't even break a sweat. The fighter was not touched once by his opponent and 'erased' his rival just over three minutes into the fight.

While the Swede continues to chart a successful path in the UFC, Durinho is looking for a new fight for the belt in the category. After being defeated by the champion, Kamaru Usman, in February, and recover afterwards against Stephen Thompson, the Brazilian continues to seek a new challenge and, today, defends second place in the ranking.
