The American welterweight Mike swick he was one victory away from competing for the category belt, but now he has decided that he no longer wants to go through the trauma of the strict weight cut and will return to his previous division.

The decision was revealed by the fighter on Twitter. “I want to come back big and healthy as a middleweight. No more sickly cutting to 77 pounds for me,” Swick said.

Swick began his career fighting as a middleweight, but reached the UFC as a light heavyweight, through the first season of the reality show The Ultimate Fighter. After finishing his participation in TUF, Swick decided to return to middleweight. He won four fights in the category, but one defeat to Yushin Okami resulted in a new change in the balance.

As a welterweight, Swick won five of eight fights but lost three of his last four. As the bad phase was accompanied by serious health problems, the fighter decided to reduce the trauma of cutting weight.
