“I thought it was really good (scheduling a fight in sequence), you know, because I already came from a camp, I only stayed at home for 15 days, to give myself a rest and I resumed training. It was a camp that allowed me to mature a lot, do everything on schedule, nothing was done in a hurry and everything went well. In most of my fights, I've always been injured and this time I don't have any injuries. So, it’s something very positive for me, I’m very happy about it.”

Are you confident of being the first to finish Amanda?

“In fact, I didn't even know it had never been finished. I feel like a much more complete athlete, right? I feel a lot of confidence in my jiu-jitsu, I always try to focus on my strengths no matter who it is with. Amanda is an athlete who is good at everything, so it will be a really cool fight to watch.”

Will you enter the top-10 if you win?

“With faith in Jesus. It's the fairest. If I win, that's what has to happen. I believe that by beating Amanda and then three more fights, I will be in a title fight. Of course, a lot depends on the way you fight, the way you convince the public, the way you convince the organization itself. So, with four more fights, including this one (UFC 267), I’ll be in the title fight”

About the first time in Abu Dhabi

“I have made many dreams come true. Fighting in Las Vegas was a dream that I always talked about with my friends. And since my jiu-jitsu days, I've also always wanted to fight here in Abu Dhabi. It was always something I really wanted, I always really wanted to be here. So, for me, this is a very positive thing. I’m being seen by the whole world, this is really great.”

Bolsonaro Government x Pandemic

“I have always been against the government that is there today, right? There was never any planning (to deal with the pandemic), so it was clear that many things would go wrong. This was expected from the beginning and I still have a pandemic in the middle of this scenario, so I think it was much worse than most of us expected. Economically, I think we have gone backwards a lot, it has been disastrous and the number of people who have lost their lives due to Covid-19 makes everything much more sad and regrettable. And the worst thing is that we know that a lot of things could have been avoided, Brazilians were treated inhumanely during this pandemic, so for me, it is an issue that goes beyond politics, it is a question of humanity”
