At 42 years old, the Minas Gerais native from Sobrália enters the octagon in the main fight of the UFC 267, in Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates, to face the current belt holder Jan Blachowicz.

In an exclusive interview to SUPER FIGHTS, Glover Teixeira spoke about the long period he had to prepare for the duel, as he has not been in action since November 2020, when he finished Thiago Marreta, and assured that he was prepared to bring another belt to Brazil.
“Jan (Blachowicz) is a very strong guy, who hits hard. I have to be very careful with his hand. He waits on the counterattack, likes to get out of the clinch and hit. I have to stay connected all the time. I had a year to work on the entries, how to hit, how to exit, so I didn't just walk forward like I did with Gustafsson, which was my mistake. His floor isn't that good, it's certainly good, but not compared to mine. We’ll see on the 30th, but I think I’m in great shape for this fight and we’re going to take this belt to Brazil”, guaranteed Glover.
About what awaits the fight, Glover Teixeira said he is ready to fight more cautiously, without rushing and taking unnecessary risks. The Brazilian stated that Jan Blachowicz will not withstand the pressure imposed by him on October 30th and will not let the fight end in the hands of the side judges.
“I will play the game carefully. Sometimes I expose myself too much, I'm very aggressive, I'm a bit hasty. So I'll work calmly, but maintaining the style of trying to finish. I'm not going to let this fight go to a decision. I'm going to take this guy to the bottom of the water so he stops breathing. I'm going to break him. It's the grinding machine, it's breaking, breaking, undermining. The guys can't handle the pressure and he'll be another one who can't handle the pressure. That’s the goal,” said the challenger.
