Pezão sends a message to Thiago Silva: 'If I can, I'll lose weight and fight'

The warm climate between Antonio Pezão e Thiago Silva, which began with a challenge launched by the heavyweight against his rival last Saturday (8), was definitively established. This Tuesday (11), in an interview with the website Fighters only, Pezão reiterated the proposal to Thiago and revealed that he is working to accept the conditions imposed by his opponent, who demanded a fight in the under-93 kg category.

“I thought he was a coward. Many fighters hold fights in different weight categories, such as Anderson Silva e Dan Henderson. I personally will consult doctors to see if I am able to lose weight without harming my health. If I can, I will lose weight and fight, for sure”, said Antônio Silva.

Without speaking openly about the reason for his indignation, the fighter also commented on the disagreement between him and his former training colleague at American Top Team. Pezão denied the version of Thiago Silva, who in the TUF Brasil 2 Finale post-event press conference had said that his departure from the academy was the cause of the disagreement.

“We were like brothers and he just stabbed me in the back, deceived me. He said I'm upset because he left ATT, but he knows that's not why I'm upset. I just want to fight him, because words won't make him change. He is mentally ill, we are completely different people. I'm a family man – I respect my father, mother, wife, I treat my friends well – without cheating on anyone and I don't use drugs”, concluded Pezão.
