“F*** it. I'm not going to face a top 10 fighter in the UFC for the salary I earn. Someone posted that they would like to see me face Tony Ferguson. I guarantee you that I would like to see a fight between me and Tony Ferguson, but, I will never accept this fight for the amounts I receive in my current contract. F*** no! How could I make such a fight to face Tony Ferguson? He's still one of the best lightweights in the world. For a salary in the hundreds of thousands of dollars, I'll fight him. For what I earn today, no,” said Paddy.

Former featherweight champion (under 65,7kg) of the Cage Warriors event, Pimblett arrived at the UFC surrounded by expectations and at least in the first fight he already showed what he came for. In his debut, against Luigi Vendramini in September of that year, the English fighter showed resilience by surviving the Brazilian's initial pressure and knocking him out in the first round. The fighter has an MMA record of 17 triumphs and three setbacks.
