“For me, there is no need at all (to knock out). I even avoid that pressure that a lot of people talk about, especially given my record in Brazil of having six knockouts in eight fights. But I don't see myself under pressure and I don't think this pressure is positive. At the best time the knockout will come. If I want to do that anyway, I'll end up leaving the strategy and paying a price for it. I like to put on a show, a knockout is a consequence, one time comes,” said Boi, in an interview with 'Combate'.

And the story between the athletes actually started before the fight was even scheduled. After defeating Jake collier, in June this year, Carlos Boi challenged Andrei Arlovski, who at first started to 'be rude' and said he didn't know him. Now, the Brazilian plans to show his potential against the former champion.

“I think it was a combination, it combined with the buzz, which even surprised me and I didn't think it would be so much, and also him being in a position in the UFC where he can't reject a fight. The buzz reached the ears of those who had to arrive and it was proposed to him, who is not in a favorable situation to refuse a fight because he is coming off a defeat. The combination of this made him accept it. But he was really rude saying: 'who is Carlos Felipe?'. They even made a meme showing him saying “Who is Carlos Felipe?” and a week later signing the contract. But if he doesn’t know me, he’ll know me next Saturday”, concluded the Bahian.

At 26 years old, Boi has 12 appearances in professional MMA. The Bahian has 11 wins and one stumble. Former interim heavyweight champion, Arlovski will reach the impressive mark of 54 commitments in the sport. The veteran has 31 triumphs, 20 setbacks and two 'unsuccessful' duels.
