“I'm here making some adjustments (to my game) and having fun with it. I took a lot of time off as it was a wild and brutal fight. We're light heavyweights, so every punch takes a lot more out of you, it took a while to heal and now I'm here training. It was good. Obviously it didn’t go my way and I could have done something different, but it’s part of the process,” Reyes said.

Despite the defeat, Dominick prefers to see the 'good side', he believes in an evolution after the fight and that he has proven himself as a fighter who can stand his ground, even if he is injured in possible future appearances.

“It was a great fight for me to build my legacy by having those crazy fights, those tough fights where it seems like I'm finished, but I keep fighting. It was important to prove to myself that I think I understand. I'm still willing to go out there and 'jump into the fire', I proved that to myself in that fight”, concluded the athlete.

Professional since 2014, Dominick reyes managed to attract the attention of MMA lovers by putting together a sequence of 12 triumphs in a row, in addition to putting on a balanced fight against the former light heavyweight champion (up to 93kg.) Jon Jones. Still, after his first defeat, he stumbled with two knockouts in a row, against Jan Blachowicz e Jiri Prochazka.
