The Georgia fighter said he deserves a fight against the champion Alexander Volkanovsky and explained the reasons. The statement was given in an interview with 'MMA Junkie'.

“Why don’t I deserve a title shot? The champion (Volkanovski) said he wants to be busy. He wants to have another fight this year or in January. I think that would make a lot of sense and would be quite a fight. He can say he's going up to lightweight, he can talk about whatever he wants, but the reality is he's the featherweight champion. If he wants to stay busy, he needs to fight someone who is fun and a good fighter,” said Giga.

Current number eight in the category, Giga still doesn't know what defeat means with UFC gloves. Since his debut in September 2018, the Georgia athlete has had seven consecutive victories in the organization. The fighter has a record of 14 positive results and two negative results in the sport.
