After leaving TUF 17 with high morale due to brutal knockouts, when two opponents left the Octagon straight to the hospital, Uriah Hall saw his reputation as a destroyer undermined by a poor performance in the final of Reality show, when he was defeated by Kelvin Gastelum, in April this year. Now, the American is looking for redemption in the octagon.
Hall will face Canadian Nick Ring on August 17, in Boston. The UFC made the fight official as part of the organization's debut event on the new FOX Sports 1 channel, which will launch on the same day. There is no information if the fight will be escalated in card principal.
Coming from a career in Ring Of Combat, where he was defeated by Chris Weidman e Constantine Philippou, Hall went through TUF 17 like a hurricane, sowing fear among the competitors, but ended up dominated by the solid game of clinch de Kelvin Gastelum, who became the youngest champion in TUF history.
Ring also competed on TUF. In season 11, he won Court mcgee, but had to abandon the contest due to a knee injury. McGee returned and ended up champion of TUF 11. Ring ended up signed by the UFC and won three out of five fights, including a second against McGee. At 34 years old, the Canadian has undergone three knee surgeries and is beginning to show signs of the end of his life. He beat Riki Fukuda and Court mcgee quite controversially and was defeated by Chris Camozzi in the last fight.
