Jéssica Bate-Estaca puts on a show, knocks out Cynthia Calvillo and asks for another chance at the strawweight belt

It put on a show. The only Tupiniquim representative on the main card of the UFC 266 this Saturday (25), an event held in Las Vegas (USA), Jessica Stacker showed superiority and knocked out Cynthia calvillo still in the first round. The duel opened the second half of the card.

With the triumph, Bate-Estaca achieved his 21st victory in mixed martial arts. Now, the Brazilian athlete has a record of 21 triumphs and nine setbacks in her career. She is, in fact, the second fighter with the most victories in the history of Ultimate (13).

Calvillo, in turn, feels the 'bitter taste' of the second defeat in a row – being the third due to his MMA record. Now, the American has a record of nine wins, three setbacks and one draw.

The fight

The combat between the athletes began with much study, with Jessica Stacker cornering Cynthia calvillo next to the grid. The North American tried to work on high kicks to repel the approach, but was frustrated by the Brazilian who, in turn, connected the best blows at short range.

Aggressive, Jéssica struck again with good combinations of straights and crosses. In the final stretch, Bate-Estaca continued to press and, in the final seconds, managed to knock out Calvillo.

Despite the fight being valid in the flyweight category (up to 56,7kg), Bate-Estaca has already planned the next step in his old division, the strawweight division (up to 52,1kg). Therefore, he tried to ask for a fight against the winner of the rematch between Rose namajunas e Weili Zhang, UFC 267.

“After this victory, I want to face the winner of Rose namajunas e Weili Zhang. It’s a very important day for me, it’s my birthday and it was a great gift”, asked the Brazilian.
