“The biggest motivation at a difficult time in my career is them (my family). It's not over. There's still a lot to come. I'm very well prepared for this fight and I'm going to show it to everyone. It's like I sometimes say, I saw Charles (from the Bronx) and (Jan) Blachowicz go through this. I look forward to trying to get there and do the same”, said Marlon in an interview with 'Combate'.

Ready to face a tough opponent, Marlon showed knowledge of his rival's qualities, but showed confidence in emerging victorious from the fight.

“I face him head on. He's a tough guy, good at wrestling, he has good cardio and he fights forward, but I'm prepared. My preparation was very good for this fight. Looking at his qualities and mine, I see that I'm much better than him standing up, and I intend to fight him standing up. And if he falls to the ground, I can pose some dangers to him and I hope to be able to finish this fight. I think he has a lot of fights in the UFC, but I have a lot of fights against tough athletes. On Saturday we will put his trajectory against mine face to face. He is the new generation, one of the tough guys that are appearing in the organization. Let's face each other and see how far he can get.”, concluded the Brazilian athlete.
