Dana White confirms new rematch between Cigano and Velasquez

The director, however, did not give any clues about the date or location of the trilogy's ending.

What was considered a great possibility is now confirmed: the saga Junior Gypsy vs. Cain Velazquez will become a trilogy. After the victories of champion Velasquez and number one challenger Cigano at UFC 160, this Saturday (25), Ultimate president Dana White confirmed the third part of the confrontation between two of today's top heavyweights.

“There’s nothing to think about,” said the director when asked about the matter at the beginning of the press conference. “I can't wait to see the third fight. They are the two best heavyweights in the world. Looking at how the first fight went. The way the second fight went. This is without a doubt one of the fights that would be a trilogy”, added the director.

PUBLICITY:

In the first meeting between the two, Junior “Cigano” dos Santos won Cain Velazquez in November 2011 and won the Ultimate heavyweight belt. Almost a year later, in December last year, the North American fought back and beat the Brazilian to regain the title. There is still no information about the likely location and date of the fight.
