The long-awaited debut of Ronaldo Jacare in the UFC was exciting. The jiu-jitsu ace took no notice of Chris Camozzi and submitted him with a quickly placed katagatame. The result, added to the Strikeforce retrospective, left the Espírito Santo in sixth place in the UFC fighter ranking.
The rise will be reflected in Jacaré’s next opponent. According to Dana White during a conversation with journalists covering UFC 160, this Thursday afternoon, in Las Vegas, the UFC president said that the Brazilian should face Yushin Okami in your next fight.
Number three in the rankings, Okami was once a challenger for the belt that belongs to Anderson Silva, Jacaré's teammate at X-Gym. The Japanese was defeated by the Brazilian star in the first edition of UFC Rio, in August 2011. Five years earlier, Okami beat Spider by disqualification, after receiving a kick to the face while kneeling. That fight was Anderson's last defeat to date.
Jacaré is 33 years old and has won four consecutive victories, three by submission and one by knockout, three of them in the first round, since losing the Strikeforce belt to Luke RockholdIn 2011.
