Recently, the UFC made a historic exception by marrying a five-round duel without a belt involved and outside the main fight between Nate diaz e Leon edwards, UFC 263, in June this year. The same will go for Nate's brother, Nick Diaz against Robbie Lawler, UFC 266, on September 25th. Asked about the possibility of this happening, however, Justin gaethje rejected the idea.

“F*** this. Why would I sign for two more rounds? They will pay me the same amount. In the end, they pay me the same. If I ever suffer a critical, chronic injury or even die in the octagon, it will be in the fourth or fifth round. So I'll save that for title fights or main fights. I’m fine,” Gaethje explained.

Former interim lightweight champion, Justin gaethje seeks to win again after being submitted by Khabib Nurmagomedov in a fight valid for the unification of the category's belts, in October 2020. Like Gaethje, Chandler also comes from a defeat in a title fight. The former Bellator champion was knocked out by Charles of the Bronx in the main fight of UFC 262, in May of this year.
