“I love (José) Aldo. I've always said he's one of the best fighters in the world, for sure. He has a spirit and behaves like a champion. The way he lives his life and his evolution in the sport is incredible. Furthermore, we have always had mutual respect,” said Faber.

Despite the friendly atmosphere today, Faber and Aldo have already had a certain rivalry. The athletes met in 2010, still for the now-defunct WEC and, on that occasion, José ended up punishing Urijah with hard low kicks and won by unanimous decision from the judges. Now, the North American remembered the atmosphere at that moment.

“I found a photo from 11 years ago, after we faced each other. We were in Las Vegas. I have nothing but respect for him. He didn't hug me, because he must have felt bad about my leg (…) but this is the world we live in, the closest to nature. I love that about sport. Aldo is great and we will be friends until we are old”, concluded the fighter.
