The gene for great controversy seems to be in the DNA of the Diaz family. After several episodes involving older brother Nick, it was time for Nate diaz get ready and be suspended by the UFC. The punishment came after a comment by the athlete about the transfer of Pat Haley's bonuses after his positive result for marijuana in the UFC 159 drug test.

On his Twitter account, Diaz was rude and used a profanity and homophobic word, the expression “fag” (“faggot”, in free translation). “I feel bad for Pat Healy. They took the money from an innocent man and I think the guy who took the money is the biggest 'fagot' in the world”, said the post on the social network.

PUBLICITY:

The demonstration deeply angered Ultimate's president, Dana White, and the organization's management, who released the following official statement about what happened: “We are very disappointed with the comments from Nate diaz, which in no way reflect the organization's thinking. Nate is currently suspended pending the internal investigation and we will comment further once the matter is decided.”
