Despite qualifying for the semi-finals of the PFL light heavyweight (up to 93kg) tournament, Cezar Mutant still regrets his defeat in the last fight of the regular season. The Brazilian fighter justified his poor performance citing an injury suffered on the eve of the duel against Chris Camozzi and showed confidence for his next clash. The statement was given in an interview with 'MMA Junkie'.

“The last fight wasn't so good, I never want to make excuses, but that fight I had against (Chris) Camozzi should have been cancelled, but I didn't cancel it because I would have been removed from the tournament. Ten days before the fight, I couldn't even walk because of some back pain problems I had. I had to take a lot of painkillers, a lot of medicines that left me a little intoxicated”, said Mutante.
The former UFC fighter assured that he is free from health problems and promised a good performance in the semi-finals of the light heavyweight tournament.
“For this next fight, I’m feeling great. I had great training, no injuries, no medication and if my opponent studied me based on my last fight, he will be surprised because Cezar here is sharp. Kicks, punches, takedowns…everything is on point”, concluded the Brazilian fighter.
In the semifinals of the tournament, Mutante will face Martin Hamlet in the event scheduled for next Thursday (27). In the regular season, the Brazilian knocked out Nick Hoenrick in the first round and was defeated by Chris Camozzi in a unanimous decision by the judges. The champion of the second edition of 'TUF Brasil' has an MMA record of 14 wins and nine losses.
